Don Francisco Magana arrived in the state of California in March 1980 and started working in the strawberry Pisces working for $3.25 an hour. Don Jose Mafana arrived in 1986. In 1988 they moved to Atlanta, Georgia and started working in restaurants washing dishes and in the kitchen. At that time they worked very hard but did not have in mind the goal of having their own restaurant.
In 1991, they went to Tennessee and associated in a part with a guy in a restaurant called Las Palmas. Jose already worked in the kitchen and Francisco, as Deendia Major in English worked outside attending tables.
Acquiring more experience, one in the kitchen and the other in the management part of the restaurant, they decided in 1998 to become fully independent and made the decision to come to Cincinnati where they opened their first restaurant in Sharonville; But it was quite hard as they had to sacrifice time with their family and fight hard to achieve the success they have today. His Second Restaurant opened in Middletown at the end of the year 1999. Now El Rancho Grande has 13 locations in the Cincinnati-Dayton area and are the premiere mexican restaurant in their areas.
